Think Tanks to Release Major Study on Reducing Congestion in Atlanta

Atlanta - The Georgia Public Policy Foundation and the Reason
Foundation will unveil a major new case study, "Reducing Congestion in
Atlanta: A Bold New Approach to Increasing Mobility," at a news
conference at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, at Atlanta's Commerce Club.

Mike Evans, chairman of Georgia's State Transportation Board, and the
study's author, Robert W. Poole Jr., Director of Transportation Studies
at the Reason Foundation and an adjunct scholar with the Georgia Public
Policy Foundation, will address the media. Poole will present the
findings of "Reducing Congestion," a bold blueprint on how to overcome
the legacy of bad policy decisions that got Atlanta into the traffic
mess that it's in today.

"Reducing Congestion" is the latest publication in Reason Foundation's
Galvin Mobility Project, a plan to solve the problems of congestion by
improving management of existing roads, instituting market pricing, and
liberating private capital.

Following the news conference is "Transportation Solutions," a Policy
Briefing Luncheon at noon at the Commerce Club that includes a panel
discussion moderated by Benita Dodd of the Georgia Public Policy
Foundation. Panelists are Robert Poole, Tyler Duvall, Assistant
Secretary for Transportation Policy in the Office of the Secretary at
the Department of Transportation, and Rosa Rountree, Executive Director
of Georgia's State Road and Tollway Authority.

The Commerce Club is located at 34 Broad Street, Atlanta. The cost for
lunch and the presentation is $25 for members and guests; $30 for
non-members. Reservations for the luncheon are required by Monday,
November 13, and may be made by calling the Georgia Public Policy
Foundation at 404-256-4050, sending an e-mail to reservations@gppf.org
or downloading the invitation at
