Published Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Atlanta - The Georgia Public Policy Foundation celebrates its 15th anniversary on Monday, October 9, with a fund-raising celebration reception beginning at 6 p.m. at the Renaissance Waverly hotel in Cobb County.

The Foundation’s keynote speaker is U.S. Senator John McCain, who will be joined by special guest U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia. Co-chairing this event are Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald, chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Governors, and Foundation Board members David Allman and Robert Hatcher.

This Foundation annual fund-raiser includes a 6 p.m. Private Reception and Photo Opportunity, with remarks and a cocktail reception at 7 p.m.

Levels of support:
Foundation Sponsor: $10,000 (raise or contribute)
Private Reception & Photo Op: $1,000 per person
Cocktail Reception: $150 per person

Founded in the fall of 1991, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation is the state’s only private, nonpartisan research and education organization focusing on state policy issues with a market-oriented perspective. Its supporters and members are a diverse group of Georgians united in their commitment to personal and economic freedom and a free-market perspective based on the principles of limited government, respect for the lives and property of others, and responsibility and accountability for one’s actions.

Every year, the Foundation hosts Policy Briefing Luncheons, Leadership Breakfasts and conferences focusing on the issues that impact Georgians, and on the people behind those issues. Foundation members meet and exchange views with state, regional and national political, education, media and business leaders. Past speakers include the President, U.S. Speaker of the House, Supreme Court Justices, U.S. senators and representatives, presidential candidates, ambassadors, state officials, governors, members of the national media and area and national business leaders.

The Foundation’s mission is to be the most respected and influential source of public policy research, analysis and education in Georgia, emphasizing policy over politics and the belief that the solutions to most problems lie in a strong private sector, not in a big government bureaucracy.

The Georgia Public Policy Foundation is a non-partisan, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization relying on voluntary support from individuals, businesses and private foundations. All contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
